I have been working for limbless Association for over a year and its great fun! I have met so many inspirational people including colleagues and patients in Queen Mary's Hospital were we are based.
LA is a charity for people with limb loss and we run the only Amputee Helpline and Volunteer Programme (called the Volunteer Visitors Network) in the UK. All of these programmes are free!
We hold two main types of events throughout the year:
1. Member based events: these are fun days and experiences to allow amputees to socialise and have fun. Non-members are also welcome.
2. Fundraising Events: These events help us raise much needed funds for the charity, allowing us to keep our programmes free.
This is our anniversary year and we are organising 11 events. We are only 7 staff members (2 part-time) so as you can imagine we do a lot!
