Construction d'un centre de santé pour combattre la malnutrition / Construction of a health center to fight against malnutrition

Actuellement, aucune structure sanitaire n'est dédiée à la protection de la petite enfance dans le district sanitaire de Barsalogho, malgré une population totale de près de 130 000 habitants (dont 20 000 jeunes enfants). De plus, c'est l'un des districts les plus touchés par le fléau de la malnutrition au Burkina Faso. C'est pourquoi l'association a décidé de construire un Centre de Récupération et d'Education Nutritionnelle (CREN), centre de santé dédié aux enfants jusqu'à 5 ans, en servant un double objectif :
1) un service curatif en prenant en charge les enfants atteints de malnutrition et en leur procurant des soins concernant les pathologies qui y sont associées ainsi que des vaccinations diverses,
2) une mission préventive en apportant conseils et cours de cuisine nutritive aux mères, tout en assurant la vente a prix social des préparations et laits.
Dès son fonctionnement, le centre touchera potentiellement 20 000 enfants, âgés de 0 à 5 ans.
Pour être viable, le CREN doit fonctionner en autonomie financière. C'est pour cette raison que l'association désire créer une pharmacie, qui permettrait au CREN de générer des revenus par la vente des médicaments, même à prix réduit.
La construction du bâtiment pricipal est achevée, le forage et le château d'eau permettent d'approvisionner la structure en eau potable. Le CREN devrait donc ouvrir en Septembre pour apporter son soutien aux populations locales le plus rapidement possible. Les bâtiments complémentaires seront construits progressivement au cours de l'année, en commençant par la pharmacie dont les travaux ont déjà commencé.
As of now, young children do not benefit from any health infrastructure within the sanitary district of Barsalogho, in spite of a total population of almost 130,000 inhabitants of which 20,000 are young children. Moreover, the sanitary district of Barsalogho is one of the most affected by the plague of malnutrition in Burkina Faso. That's why Ouaga' has decided to construct a CREN (Centre de Récupération et d'Education Nutritionnelle or Center for Recovery and Nutritional Education). This health center, which is dedicated to children aged 5 or less, has a double mission:
1) a curative mission, implemented by welcoming and taking care of the children who are affected by malnutrition, and by providing them with various vaccinations and with treatments against pathologies that are related to malnutrition.
2) a preventive mission, implemented by advising the mothers and teaching them how to cook nutritive dishes, while providing them with the preparations and milks at social price.
As soon as it will be completed, the CREN will potentially reach 20,000 children aged from 0 to 5. The CREN has to be self-sufficient in order to be viable. That's why Ouaga' wants to create a pharmacy that would allow the CREN to generate profits through the sale of medicines at low prices.
The medical building is is already functional and a water tower supplies it with drinking water. The CREN should therefore open in Spetember in order to bring a concrete support to local populations concerning food problems and infants' health as fast as possible. Complementary buildings will be added progressively, starting with the pharmacy, for which the construction has already started.

Dès sa création, Ouaga' s'est concentrée sur des projets concernant l'enfance, et notamment l'éducation.
La construction de deux complexes scolaires dans la province du Sanmatenga, avec les écoles primaires Saint Jean-Baptiste à Pissila (2001-2004) et Caroline à Korsimoro (2004-2006) , a permis de doubler le taux de scolarisation de ces villages.
Aujourd'hui, ces deux écoles fonctionnent en autonomie et font partie intégrante des villages concernés. Les dix postes de professeur créés apportent en outre un soutien économique à la région.
Since its creation, Ouaga' has been working on projects focusing on children and especially on education. The construction of two schools in the Sanmatenga province - the primary schools Saint Jean-Baptiste in Pissila (2001-2004) and Caroline in Korsimoro (2004-2006) - has doubled the schooling rate in those villages. Today, both schools are self-sufficient and wholly integrated in the villages. Furthermore, the ten teaching positions that have been created offer an economic support to the region.
