2007-10-22 by DEREK SUTTON	I'm Converted I was persuaded to buy a satnav by my Garage which could not fathom out how to repair an electronic speedo on my old 'boys' toy' car. I wanted something fairly basic with an MPH function but which was reliable in every sense. Found that Curry's web site was the cheapest place to buy - HINT: but you can buy it for that lower price in store if you tell the sales staff that you know about it. I've had the thing for a couple of months and am very impressed. Easy to see, even with my failing near sight; clear instructions ... mostly. Having tested it on routes which I know, it has thrown up some anomolies, such as 'turn right' when on a motorway and wanting to join another crossing motorway! Could have meant an expensive trip into the armco! Also having delivered me to my destination via one route (the one I would have selected anyway) it tried to bring me back by a different route. Why? Otherwise I have found it a very useful tool. Set-up was easy, but not by following the instructions in the box - which would not work! I found a newer version of Tom Tom home somewhere else on the website and voila - we had liftoff. I managed to download a new voice for it (John Cleese - highly recommended as very amusing) but although it would let me download the trafficmaster service, it warned me that this would not work on my machine. Annoying. Overall I am very pleased with the machine and use it in my everyday car now, as well as my boys' toy. It has got me easily to a couple of places I just know I would have had great difficulty finding using my (large print) map..
2007-05-20 by ERNEST MCCLAY	Tom Tom ONE Smart machine, seems to run on old maps even on upgrade. You pay for your upgraded maps and some roundabouts do not exist( you always have right of way) dangerous or what!. Some POI seem to be situated in the centre of a blank screen no roads lead to them. Roads which have existed for years are not on map.
2007-05-20 by Craig Markham	TomTom One GB I would have given this the full 5* treatment but wanted to highlight how good the reception is! I've tried several different branded units borrowed from friends in my car and have always come to the same conclusion; I need a external antenna because of the windscreen on my Laguna. The One GB works fine, even getting a 5 bar signal such is the sensitivity of the GPS chipset. I love it, even use it to drive 5 mins down the road to the shops, easy to use, clear instructions, the volume increases as speed (and engine noise) increases. I would recommend this to any of my friends, but just one thing, don't leave the holder stuck to the windscreen. A friend was relieved of a drivers door window by someone looking for the device even though it wasn't in the car just because the holder was stuck to the window.
