EAT is working with our partner MCP in Tanzania to create a Fair Trade in African Blackwood, from community ownership and management to certification and marketing.
In July 2008 we have been awarded a major grant for a further 3 years' funding that will culminate in the launch of 'certified' woodwind musical instruments onto the UK market. The small price premium that will be added will be transfrerred back down the supply chain to the forest-dependent villages in Tanzania for their communities to invest for their future.
